David McReynolds is a third year dental student from Derry and is taking both his training and his fundraising seriously as he prepares for the grueling 600km ride. He is hoping that the public will back his cause and come out in force for a special fundraising gig in Sandinos next Wednesday night. Five of Derry’s best known bands - Fighting With Wire, Ard Ri, The Q, Futurechaser and Tillie& Henderson - are lined up to play. The 19-year-old, who has been preparing for the marathon cycle for “about a year”, says he is eagerly looking forward to the nine day challenge.
Admission to the fundraiser in Sandinos on Wednesday, August 10 is £5. Doors open at 8pm.
